Joe's Night Run at The Hamptons
Joe's Night Run at The Hamptons is an all night endurance event held on the paved cart paths of The Hamptons Golf Course in Hampton VA. This will be the sixth running and it is organized by Lion's Pride Racing.
Distances and options include:
- 11-hour race and ruck
- 5-hour race and ruck
- 4.4-mile single loop option
The course is a paved 4.4-mile loop that starts and finishes in the parking lot in front of the clubhouse. The loop is routed as a counterclockwise section around nine holes called The Woods and a clockwise section around nine holes called The Links. The course will be marked with glow sticks and turn signs. Runners may take one shorter 2.4-mile loop around The Woods on a final lap if needed. The path includes small hills and is wide enough for about three people to run side by side.
Logistics are manual lap counting, with runners calling out their bib number to lap counters. A stocked aid station will offer primarily pre-packaged items. The parking layout makes it possible to crew from a car on every loop. Portable restrooms will be available in the parking lot and at two locations on course. All runners must carry a lighting device. Ruckers must carry 30 lb if they weigh 150 lb or more, and 20 lb if they weigh under 150 lb. Late starts can be requested from the race director. Finishers receive a finisher item and a homemade medal; the top three women and men in each category will be acknowledged and winners receive bonus items.
