Joe's Night Run At The Hamptons
Joe's Night Run at The Hamptons is the sixth running of an all-night-running endurance event held on the paved cart paths at The Hamptons Golf Course in Hampton, VA. The event uses a single paved loop and offers multiple timed and distance options.
Event options include:
- 11-hour race
- 11-hour ruck
- 5-hour race
- 5-hour ruck
- 4.4-mile loop
The course is a paved 4.4-mile loop on cart paths, beginning and ending in the parking lot in front of the clubhouse. The loop includes two sections, The Woods and The Links, and will be marked with glow sticks and turn signs. On a final lap, runners may choose a shorter 2.4-mile loop around The Woods. The path typically allows about three people abreast and includes small hills.
This is a manual lap count event: runners call out their bib number at lap counters. A fully stocked aid station will be available with primarily pre-packaged items. The layout makes self-crewing easy because participants pass the parking lot every lap and can crew directly from their vehicle. Portable restrooms will be in the parking lot and at two on-course locations between holes 5 and 6 on both sections. All runners must use a lighting device to illuminate the cart paths.
Ruckers have required minimum weights: 30 lbs for people 150 lbs or more, and 20 lbs for people under 150 lbs; exceptions may be requested from the race director. All finishers receive a finisher item and a homemade medal, and top three men and women in each category are acknowledged. Fresh coffee and doughnuts will be provided for those who stay through the event's conclusion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
