Joe's Night Run At The Hamptons
Joe's Night Run At The Hamptons is an endurance event held at The Hamptons Golf Course in Hampton, Virginia. Organized by Lion's Pride Racing, the event takes place overnight on the paved cart paths of the golf course. The course consists of a 4.4-mile loop that incorporates two sections: a counterclockwise loop around The Woods and a clockwise loop around The Links. The terrain features small hills and the path is wide enough for approximately three people to run abreast.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 11 Hour Race
- 11 Hour RUCK
- 5 Hour Race
- 5 Hour RUCK
- 4.4 Miler
The event utilizes manual lap counting where runners call out their bib numbers at the end of each loop. For those participating in the time-based endurance categories, a final shorter loop of 2.4 miles around The Woods is permitted to finish out their time. Ruckers must carry specific weights based on body weight: 20 lbs for those under 150 lbs, and 30 lbs for those 150 lbs or more.
A fully stocked aid station providing primarily pre-packaged items is located near the start and finish area in the clubhouse parking lot. The layout allows participants to crew directly from their vehicles as they pass the parking area on every loop. All participants are required to use a lighting device while on the course. Finishers receive a homemade medal and a finisher item, with additional recognition for the top three male and female participants in each category.
