The Joe Keany Memorial 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The event is a community road race held at North Country Road Middle School in Miller Place, New York. It includes a certified course that runs from the school through historic Miller Place, past Mount Sinai Harbor, up Cedar Drive hill, and finishes back at the school. Jogging strollers are welcome.

Registration includes pre-race and day-of options, with early bib pick-up and general registration available the day before the race. Shirts are guaranteed for entrants who register by May 20 at midnight. Day-of registration is offered on site for both races. Entry fees listed for the event are $15 for the 1 Mile and $30 for the 5K with higher day-of rates.
Awards recognize a range of competitors. The Keany Cup is awarded to the first male and female Miller Place student or alumni. The 5K also awards top three overall male and female, top three masters male and female, and medals for the top three male and female in multiple age groups from 8 and under through 80 plus. The 1 Mile presents medals to the top five male and female finishers ages 12 and under and ribbons to all finishers.
The event also includes a 50/50 raffle with the winner keeping the prize and limited extra shirts available after the registration cutoff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
