Event overview
The JJK5K takes place on Monday, September 7, 2026, at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. It is the fourth annual edition and is scheduled as the first event of the 2026 Enjoy Illinois 300 weekend. Activities occur throughout the WWTR facilities, including laps around the oval track used for the NASCAR Cup race. The event honors a hometown Olympic champion who has dedicated post-competition work to supporting youth programs in East St. Louis. Race proceeds benefit the JJK Foundation, which supports youth programs in the Metro East community.

The event offers two course options:
- 5K run
- 1.25 mile walk around the oval track
Standard entry fees listed are $45 for the 5K and $15 for the 1.25 mile walk; reduced child pricing applies ($15 and $10 respectively). Listed prices increase after August 14, 2026 at 11:59 pm CDT. Registration includes a T shirt, a commemorative event medal, free parking, two tickets to the Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR Cup race on September 13, free downloadable participant photos, and awards for top three finishers in various 5K classes.
