Corps of Discovery Trail Races

Event Information
The Corps of Discovery Trail Races will take place on August 29, 2026. There are three race distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 8 Mile
- 5 Mile
The races start and finish at the Lewis and Clark trailhead, which is located in the Weldon Spring Conservation Area off Highway 94 near Defiance, Missouri. The course uses the Lewis and Clark Trails and is not closed to outside use. The half marathon combines the 8-mile Lewis loop and the 5-mile Clark loop, run counter-clockwise. The trail winds along the Missouri River bluffs, hardwood ridges, and hollows.
Event Details
The races are a cup-free event, so participants must carry their own water receptacle to use at aid stations. Parking is at the secondary lot of the Weldon Spring Interpretative Site (7295 RT-94, St. Charles, MO). Packet pickup begins on race morning. A $10 discount is available for St. Louis Track Club members who use their registered email.
Sign-up before August 15, 2026, is required to guarantee participant swag and a finisher's medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
