Corps of Discovery Trail Races
The Corps of Discovery Trail Races take place on August 29, 2026, at the Lewis and Clark Trailhead in the Weldon Spring area near Saint Charles, Missouri. The event uses the Lewis and Clark trails and offers multiple loop options on hardwood-lined ridges and river-facing sections.
Distances
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles: runs the 8-mile Lewis loop then the 5-mile Clark loop
- 8 Mile 8 miles: the Lewis loop only
- 5 Mile 5 miles: the Clark loop only
Aid stations are positioned on each course. Stations provide water and Tailwind Nutrition; some stations are manned and others are water-only as noted for specific miles on each loop. The event is cup-free; no paper cups will be provided. Each participant receives a reusable HydraPak SpeedCup at packet pickup, and the organizer partners with Hydrapak’s Sustainable Racing Program.
Registration opens February 8 and closes July 1. Entry fees are listed per distance and St. Louis Track Club members receive a $10 discount. Register by August 15 to guarantee a race shirt. All finishers receive a medal. Overall awards for first through third place are given to female, male, and non-binary winners for each distance.
Parking is at the Weldon Spring Interpretive Site. Participants must cross Hwy 94 to reach the start area using the coned safety lane and volunteer directions. A designated drop bag area is available at the start and finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
