The Next Loop - Cliff Cave
The event takes place at Cliff Cave Park on the River Bluff Trail. The course uses a clearly marked 3.1 mile (5K) loop that returns each lap to a central start and finish area with a fully stocked aid station.
The trail surface is mainly packed dirt with sections of crushed limestone and natural singletrack. Runners will encounter roots, short climbs, and a few technical sections along limestone bluffs and wooded hillsides. Overlooks provide views of the Mississippi River. Elevation is more pronounced than flatter park courses, with rolling hills and bluff-side sections that affect pacing across multiple loops.
The format is loop based. Athletes start together, complete one 5K loop at a time, and decide whether to continue. Every completed loop is counted and there are no missed cutoffs. This structure lets participants manage fueling and pacing while choosing how many laps to complete during the event.
