Jingle in July 5K and 1 Mile Walk : Gring's Mill Park, Reading PA
The event is a Christmas themed community run and walk held on the Gring's Mill trails near the Penn State Berks campus. It is presented as a benefit for KidsPeace Foster Care and Community Programs, with all race proceeds supporting the Reading/Pottsville office.
The course follows shaded, mostly flat cinder paths. The 5K is measured and professionally timed by Pretzel City Sports. The event includes awards for overall finishers and age-group placings, a best costume award, a raffle with items from local businesses, and a Christmas toy drive. Toy donations can be dropped off during packet pickup or on event day and will be distributed to children served by the foster care program.
Registration options include online entry and mailed applications; mailed registrations list Pretzel City Sports as the processing address and checks are payable to KidsPeace. Fee tiers include an early rate with a guaranteed shirt when postmarked by the listed deadline, a higher rate after that date while shirts last, and a reduced fee when shirts are no longer available. Packet pickup is available the day before at Gring's Mill Barn and on the day of the event at the same location.
