Event Overview
The Burlington Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning at Burlington High School. This running event is held in partnership with myTEAM TRIUMPH, an organization focused on inclusion in athletics. The event features a 5 km distance where participants take on specific roles to complete the course together.
Participation Categories
Participants enter the event in one of two distinct categories designed to foster a collaborative environment:
- 5 km Captain: These participants are the central focus of the event and include individuals with any type of disability.
- 5 km Angel: These are able-bodied athletes who guide the Captains along the course to the finish line.
The event emphasizes the creation of shared experiences and special moments between the different types of athletes. Participants have the opportunity to contribute to a collective photo archive to document their participation in the race and look back on images from previous years.
