JFK Runway 5K Run/Walk
The event is a 5K run and walk held at JFK International Airport on October 25, 2026. The course is an out-and-back run on an active runway that is closed to aircraft for a limited period. In adverse weather the route may be moved to adjacent airside taxiways. Organizers coordinate with airport authorities and security protocols are enforced.
Registration is tiered by date and category, with a discounted student rate for participants 18 and under who must show valid ID on race day. Bibs are shipped to the address provided during registration and participants must bring their bib on race morning; a self-lookup and staff-assisted pickup are available if a bib is not delivered.
Event amenities include pre-packaged post-race refreshments and same-day finish line photos and video. Results are provided live online, by email and by text. Awards include trophies for the top overall male and female and medals for the top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 14 and under through 80 plus.
Logistics notes state there will be shuttle buses from the Federal Circle AirTrain station to Building 14, a security check for runway access, a secure storage area for possessions, and restrictions that prohibit strollers, fannypacks and regular cameras on the runway while allowing smartphones.
