JFK Runway 5K Run/Walk - October 25, 2026
The event is a 5-kilometre run and walk held at JFK International Airport with a closed, out-and-back course on one of the airport runways. The course is described as flat and fast and may be moved to adjacent airside taxiways if weather conditions require.
Participants receive pre-packaged post-race refreshments. Bibs are shipped to the address provided during registration; entrants must bring their bib on race morning and can see event staff if a bib was not delivered or was lost. Registrants who enter at least three weeks in advance may have their name printed on their bib.
There will be shuttle service between the Federal Circle AirTrain station and Building 14. Security screening is required; certain items are not allowed on the runway, including fannypacks and regular cameras, while smartphones are permitted. A secure area will be available for storing personal possessions. Strollers are not allowed on the race course and should be left at Building 14.
Awards include trophies for the top male and female overall finishers and medals for the top three in multiple age groups. The event supports fundraising activities associated with the JFK Rotary Club. Results and same-day finish-line photos are provided online.
