JFK Runway 5K Run/Walk - October 25, 2026
The event is a self-timed 5K run/walk held at JFK International Airport on October 25, 2026. The course is an out-and-back route on an active runway that is closed to aircraft for the event, described as flat and fast. In adverse weather the course may be moved to adjacent airside taxiways.
Registration options include early, pre-event and race day pricing for the 5K, and a reduced fee for students 18 and under who must present valid ID on race day. Registration fees are non-refundable. Additional paid options such as raffle tickets and donations are offered, and bibs can be shipped to the registrant address. Participants who register at least three weeks in advance may receive a personalized bib.
Event logistics include free shuttle buses from the Federal Circle AirTrain Station to Building 14, a security check for access to the runway, and a secure area for storing possessions. Some items are not allowed on the runway, including fanny packs and regular cameras; smartphones are permitted. Strollers are not allowed on the course and must be left at Building 14.
Post-race amenities include pre-packaged refreshments. Awards consist of trophies for the top male and female overall finishers and medals for the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups from 14 and under through 80 plus.
