2026 Cheryl Diamond NJ 5K Cancer Schlep Run/Walk

The Jersey Shore 5K Cancer Schlep is an annual community event held at Joe Palaia Park in Oakhurst, New Jersey. This event brings together participants ranging in age from 5 to 90 years old to raise awareness for breast, ovarian, and prostate cancer. The run and walk serve to support cancer research and treatment, specifically benefiting the BRCA Multidisciplinary Clinic and studies investigating BRCA mutation carriers.

Participants can choose the following distance:

The event takes place on a course within the park and is held rain or shine. Registration for the 5 km distance includes a commemorative shirt, although sizes are not guaranteed for those who register on the day of the race. The event uses electronic timing for participants, and results are provided online and via text.

Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female finishers in various age categories, spanning from 19 and under to 70 and over. There is no bag check available at the venue, and participants are advised not to bring valuables. Registration fees are non-refundable as they are used to cover race expenses.
