Cheryl Diamond NJ Jersey Shore 5K Cancer Schlep
The Cookie & Stanley Chera a"h and Cheryl Diamond Jersey Shore Cancer Schlep is an annual community 5K run/walk held at Joe Palaia Park in Ocean Township, New Jersey. The event brings together hundreds of participants, with ages reported from about 5 to 90 years, to raise awareness and support for cancers linked to BRCA genetic mutations and for breast, ovarian, and prostate cancer research and treatment.
The event benefits global research studies on breast and ovarian cancer and supports the BRCA Multidisciplinary Clinic at Rabin Medical Center’s Davidoff Cancer Center in Israel. Fundraising and team pages are used to organize donations and group participation for those purposes.
Race logistics noted by the organizer include on-site bib pickup with a self-lookup option for bib numbers; participants who register close to pickup are notified of their bib number by text. There is no bag check at the event and the organizer states it is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Awards are given to the overall top male and female finishers and to top male and female finishers in age groups including 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. A prior edition of the event took place Sunday, June 14, 2026, identified as the 2nd annual Schlep. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
