The Cookie & Stanley Chera a"h and Cheryl Diamond Jersey Shore 5K Cancer Schlep is the second annual 5K run/walk held at Joe Palaia Park in Ocean Township, New Jersey. The event brings together hundreds of participants from the county, with ages reported from 5 to 90, to raise awareness and funds related to BRCA genetic screening and cancers that affect breast, ovarian, and prostate health.
Proceeds partially benefit the BRCA Multidisciplinary Clinic at Rabin Medical Center’s Davidoff Cancer Center in Israel and support global research studies on breast and ovarian cancer and BRCA mutation carriers. The event offers participant shirts (sizes not guaranteed) and lists a registration option for the 5K run/walk with processing fees noted in published totals.
There is no bag check at the event; participants are strongly encouraged not to bring bags or valuables. Bib pickup and the race start and finish are located at Joe Palaia Park.
