About the race
This event takes place on October 31, 2026, at Spring Park in Osage, Iowa. It is organized as a community 5K run/walk on a scenic park route. Halloween and Dia de los Muertos costumes are recommended but not required.

- 5K (3.1 miles)
Registration opens August 20. Entry fees follow a tiered schedule: $30 for early entry by 11:59 pm on September 30 and $35 thereafter. A T-shirt guarantee requires registration by 11:59 pm on October 16; registrations after that date are $35 with no guaranteed shirt. In-person registration may be available the morning of the event.
The $30 registration fee includes a Sugar Skull Fun Run T-shirt and soup at Rusty’s Last Call in Osage. Post-run food and a silent auction are scheduled at Rusty’s Last Call.
Proceeds will support two memorial scholarships and two animal-related recipients: ISU Small Animal Veterinary Hospital and the Humane Society of North Iowa.
Parts of the trail may be rocky; racing spikes are not allowed. The presentation is described as family-friendly and intended to honor the memory of a local runner and triathlete. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
