Charley Western Firecracker 5
The Charley Western Firecracker 5 is an annual 5K race held in Charles City, Iowa, along the Cedar River on July 4, 2026. The 2026 edition is the event's 24th anniversary and coincides with the nation’s 250th anniversary. The course is located near 1 Comet Drive by the high school football field.
The event distance is 3.1 Miles. Awards are planned for Most Patriotic Individual Outfit and Most Patriotic Team Outfits. Teams of five have a specific team registration option available.
Registration details specify an early rate and a standard rate. Early board registration by June 19 is $30 per person for ages 18 and up and $25 per person for ages 17 and under. After June 19 the individual fee increases by $5. Teams of five can register for $135 if submitted by June 19. Registration opens March 1, 2026 and closes June 20, 2026.
