About the race
Jay Peak Trail Running Festival is a two-day event at Jay Peak, Vermont on Labor Day weekend (Sept 4-5, 2027). The festival offers a set of organized trail races across technical mountain terrain and laps around the resort.
The event features seven race options across the weekend. Saturday races use Stateside Lodge as the start area and include a series of 5k courses plus a dedicated kids trail race. Longer courses are held the other day and use multiple laps around Jay Peak with aid stations on the longer routes. The organizers note the current course is harder than earlier versions.
The festival is presented alongside lodging and family amenities at the resort. Three hotels and condo options are listed for visitors, and onsite activities include an indoor water park, ice rink, climbing wall, arcade, movie theater and several restaurants. All registrants receive a lodging discount code as part of registration.
The event has received recognition in running publications and lists, including mentions by Trail Runner Magazine, Runners World, and REI. Course details and maps are provided for each distance, and aid stations are deployed on longer laps at regular intervals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
