About the race
Ultra Obscura is a trail event at Mont Sutton in Sutton, Quebec on June 19, 2027, organized by Sinister Sports. The race is held entirely on trails with no asphalt sections and uses a nonstandard, loop-based format that emphasizes strategy, planning and in-race decision making rather than a traditional ultra-trail layout. The course includes technical, uneven terrain and offers views of the Sutton mountains. Event capacity is limited to 200 participants.

The event also lists an 84 km relay option and a children's race called La Salamandre.
Participants receive a technical t-shirt, a pre-race meal, race photos, and a personalized medal. The event provides live timing updates and medical support from professional first responders and paramedics. Part of the registration fees is allocated to PENS and Plein Air Sutton to support trail maintenance and sustainability efforts.
Prize presentations are scheduled after competitors complete the relevant loops, with some awards given on Saturday and awards for the 66 km and 84 km distances taking place on Sunday morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
