Fly to Pie - Kingdom Marathon
Fly to Pie is a fall road running event in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont that follows mainly dirt roads through a section called "The Gut" during peak fall foliage. The event offers multiple distance options and finishes at Parker Pie in West Glover, where pizza is provided and a cash bar serves Hill Farmstead Beer. The marathon course is described as vista riddled and largely on dirt roads.
Twenty percent of all registration fees are donated to Halo Foundation to help local individuals and families battling cancer with uncovered travel and treatment expenses. The event has an overall registration limit of 300 participants.
The Marathon, the 17-mile event, and the 13.5-mile runs share a common start at the Coventry airport, with a Jay Peak shuttle available to return participants to the start. The 10 km Run/Walk begins at the Irasburg Common and follows about six miles of dirt roads to Parker Pie. Support tables are placed approximately every three miles and provide water and GatorAde. Organizers place a course map and a table support locations map for participants.
Fly to Pie is hosted by Kingdom Games, an organization that runs multiple days of running, biking, and swimming events in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
