James Island Connector Run

The James Island Connector Run takes place in Charleston, South Carolina at Folly Road and the James Island Expressway. The event uses a USATF certified out and back course that begins and ends on James Island near Folly Road and remains on the connector with no exit ramps. The connector will close by 6 AM and will reopen no later than 12 PM. The course passes above the Ashley River and offers views of the downtown Charleston peninsula.

Distances offered:

• 8K Run with overall, masters level, and five year age group awards
• 5K Run or Run/Walk with overall, masters level, and five year age group awards
• 5K Walk ONLY with awards for top three male walkers and top three female walkers

All runners and walkers receive finisher medals. A post race festival at the finish line includes medals and food. Registration windows and fees are listed for each distance in the event details; listed registration opens 2026-03-23 and closes 2026-08-24 for the three options. Packet pick up is available Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Fleet Feet Mount Pleasant and on race day near the base of the connector; race day packet pick up closes at 7:50 AM or after the last shuttle of runners and walkers have finished picking up packets.
