James Island Connector Run

Event Overview
The James Island Connector Run takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina. The event offers three different distances:
- An 8K Run
- A 5K Run or Run/Walk
- A 5K Walk ONLY
Course Details
The course starts and finishes on the James Island Connector bridge, beginning on the James Island side. It is a USATF-certified out-and-back route that stays on the connector with no exit ramps, offering views of the Ashley River and the Charleston peninsula. The James Island Connector road will be closed for the event.
Awards & Participant Items
All runners and walkers receive a finisher's medal. Awards are given for top finishers and the top three male and female walkers, with additional awards three deep in all age groups. Participants receive a shirt with registration, though preferred sizes are not guaranteed for late registrants.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on two occasions:
- Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at a location to be determined.
- Race day, Saturday, October 17, from 6:30 AM to 7:50 AM at the race start area (the base of the connector). Race day pickup closes at 7:50 AM.
Beneficiaries
The event raises money for Charleston Animal Society, a No Kill animal shelter, and Ladies Enriching the Community (LETC), a local nonprofit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
