Course and logistics
The course uses park singletrack including Pemberton, Shallmo, Cinch, and Escondido Trails. The 100 Mile route comprises one ~22.3 mile loop plus four ~19.45 mile loops; the 100K uses the same two loops in a different combination. Each loop includes four on-course aid stations: Javelina Jeadquarters (start/finish), Coyote Camp, Jackass Junction, and Rattlesnake Ranch. The longest aid gaps are about 6.5 miles and 6.6 miles on the first loop; runners are advised to carry adequate water.
The course is marked with orange ribbon with black polka dots and junction signage; reflective markers are added for night running. Crewing is allowed only at Javelina Jeadquarters. Pacers are permitted under event rules and may be picked up and dropped only at Javelina Jeadquarters. The event operates as a cupless race; runners must supply their own reusable cup or bottle. Camping, RV, and car-camping options are available within the event staging area, and park vehicle entry fees apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
