Javelina Jundred
The Javelina Jundred is a desert trail running event held at McDowell Mountain Regional Park near Fountain Hills, Arizona. The race takes place on a rolling single-track course primarily utilizing the Pemberton Trail. The terrain features a mix of smooth desert paths, sandy washes, and moderate climbs, with elevation ranging between 1,623 and 2,486 feet.
Participants can choose from three distinct race distances:
- 100 Mile: Comprises one 22.3 mile loop and four 19.45 mile loops.
- 100K: Consists of one 22.3 mile loop and two 19.45 mile loops.
- 31K: A single loop option known as the Jackass Night Trail.
The 100 Mile race serves as a qualifier for the Western States 100, and is also a Golden Ticket race where top finishers may earn automatic entry into that event. The course is supported by four aid stations per loop: Javelina Jeadquarters, Coyote Camp, Jackass Junction, and Rattlesnake Ranch. These stations provide water, electrolytes, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks, including vegan and vegetarian options.
The event is held during the weekend of October 31 and November 1, 2026. Because of the "Jalloween" theme, many participants wear costumes. The race is conducted on a cupless basis, meaning runners must bring their own reusable containers for fluids.
