About the race
The Monster Dash 5K in Scottsdale is scheduled for October 30, 2026, at the Arizona Boardwalk / OdySea Aquarium. The event is presented as a themed evening 5K run/walk with roaming monsters and mummies in the course and event area; participants often wear costumes and leashed pets are permitted. The event includes a custom finisher medal for all finishers and a custom Dri-Fit tech shirt. Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female runners in age groups from 8 & Under through 80 & Over, with virtual runners excluded from age-group awards.
A pre- and post-race "Athlete's Brunch" offers items such as granola bars, fruit, and water. The course is set and marked by StartLine Racing, with chip timing, real-time results, and event photos provided by the timing team. Packet pick-up is available the day before at Road Runner Sports and on race day at Arizona Boardwalk. Race day registration is offered at Arizona Boardwalk and accepts cash and credit cards; the race day fee for the 5K is $45. Wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome but must start at the back of the pack.
Bicycles, roller blades or skates, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed on the run or walk courses. The event proceeds in all weather and there are no refunds or transfers due to weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
