Jack Roberts Memorial 5K
The Jack Roberts Memorial 5K is a community 5K run/walk held on August 9, 2026, starting and ending at the Leitersburg Ruritan Park in Leitersburg, Maryland (Hagerstown area). The event takes place in conjunction with the Leitersburg Ruritan Peach Festival.
The course is an out-and-back route through rolling hills and scenic areas of Leitersburg. A water station is available at approximately the halfway point. All finishers receive a race medal, and a t-shirt is guaranteed for participants who sign up before August 1. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers. Snacks and drinks will be provided, and each participant receives one free Kona Ice.
Registration opens May 6, 2026; the stated registration fee is $25. Packet pickup may occur Saturday, August 8, 9:00 to 17:00 at the Peach Festival Hospitality Tent adjacent to the main pavilion at the Ruritan Park, or beginning at 6:30 on race day in the Community Center Gymnasium. In-person registration is available Saturday, August 8, 9:00 to 17:00, or starting at 6:30 on race day; race day registration is completed in the Gymnasium.
After expenses, proceeds support the Jack Roberts Field of Interest Fund at the Community Foundation of Washington County, Maryland, which focuses on adolescent and young adult mental health and suicide prevention, and the Leitersburg Ruritan Scholarship Fund.
