Jack-O-Lantern 5K & 10K - 2026
The Jack-O-Lantern races take place on September 26, 2026 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, at the Richland Township Fire & Rescue location on 64 Shelly Rd. The event offers two race distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
Both courses run along the Upper Bucks Rail Trail and pass through the paved Richland Township Veterans Park. The surface includes packed gravel on the rail trail and pavement through the park. The event is chip timed and pace times will be posted in the start area to help participants self seed so a wave start is not required.
A Pumpkin Challenge can be added to a race entry. Participants who choose the challenge pick a pumpkin from the patch weighing between 2 and 5 pounds and must carry it for the entire race, returning it intact to keep the pumpkin and receive a Pumpkin Challenge finisher prize. No carrying devices are allowed and runners under nine years old may not participate in the challenge.
Entry categories include reduced pricing for ages 10 to 19 and free entry for children under 10. Shirt distribution and type depend on age and registration date; registrants age 10 and over who sign up by September 7 receive a red, white and blue moisture wicking shirt. Packet pickup is available at the Richland Township Fire & Rescue building on the days before the race.
Awards are given overall and by age group, including top overall female and male and top master female and male. Proceeds support the new Richland Township Fire & Rescue to help fund one set of turnout gear. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
