J. Barry Dwyer Red Devil Turkey Trot
The J. Barry Dwyer Red Devil Turkey Trot is a community running event held on November 21, 2026, at Chelsea High School, 299 Everett Avenue, Chelsea, MA. The event was permanently renamed in honor of the late J. Barry Dwyer, who led the Chelsea High School boys cross-country program to multiple Commonwealth Athletic Conference championships and remained active in local school athletics after retirement.

The 5K course is USATF-certified and uses chip timing provided by Mercury Timing. The route begins and finishes on the track at Chelsea Memorial Stadium and follows a mostly flat out-and-back path with a mild hill. The course heads south on Everett Avenue, then proceeds via Carter, Beech, Spruce, Washington, Cary, Broadway, Webster, and Clarke avenues before returning to the track.
Proceeds support the J. Barry Dwyer Memorial Scholarship and the Chelsea High School track, field, and cross-country programs. An awards ceremony for the 5K includes overall, age-group, and team awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
