ITC Club Race
The ITC Club Race is a monthly triathlon event held in Port Kembla, organized by the Illawarra Triathlon Club. The event is sanctioned by AusTriathlon and takes place at a coastal location overlooking MM Beach and the five islands off the coast. The competition features a non-drafting format for the cycling portion and utilizes staggered swim waves based on experience and expected finish times.
The event offers several distances to accommodate various participation levels:
- Club distance: 400m swim, 13.2km bike, and 4.4km run
- Short Club distance: 200m swim, 6.6km bike, and 2.2km run
- Kids Triathlon: Specific distances briefed by the Race Director on the morning of the event
The swim leg is an open water ocean swim consisting of one or two laps with water safety provided. The cycling segment is held on a closed road course along Gloucester Blvd, involving three or six laps. The run follows a one or two-lap course on the footpath.
Registration is open to members and non-members. Participants have the option to switch to a shorter distance on the day of the event if needed. Parking is available at Five Islands Secondary College and along Gloucester Blvd. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
