Event Overview
The It Takes a Village 5K and 1K Fun Run is a community running and walking event held in Warwick, Rhode Island. Organized as a joint effort by the Rhodes PTA and Edgewood Highland PTO, the event serves as a fundraiser to support two local school communities. The festivities take place at Pawtuxet Park, with the main assembly point located at the Aspray Boathouse.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- 5,000 meter Run & Walk
- 1K Fun Run & Walk
The 1K course follows an out-and-back route moving southbound on Narragansett Blvd. The 5,000 meter (5K) event is open to both runners and walkers.
The evening includes additional activities such as live music and food. Commemorative race t-shirts are provided to participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees apply for both events, with a scheduled price increase occurring shortly before the race date. All proceeds benefit the participating Parent Teacher Organizations.
