The Islip Terrace Fire Dept “Heathers Helpers” 5K Run/Walk is an organized community running event held at the Islip Terrace Fire Department headquarters in Islip Terrace, NY. The event takes place at 264 Beaver Dam Rd and runs rain or shine.
The event includes these distances:
- 5K road run/walk
- Kids Fun Run
The marked out course begins on Beaverdam Road and follows a specific neighborhood loop that includes Carlton Ave, Richard, Craig B Gariepy, Redman, and Manhattan Blvd with a U-turn at the ITFD substation before returning to the firehouse finish. Road markers will guide participants along the route.
Amenities and services listed for the event include guaranteed shirts for the first 300 registrants, finisher medals, live online/text/email results, free finish line photos and same-day video, and personalized bibs for those who register at least three weeks in advance. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall.
