Islip Terrace Fire Dept “Heathers Helpers” 5K Run/Walk
The Islip Terrace Fire Dept “Heathers Helpers” 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for August 22, 2026 at the Race Site, 264 Beaver Dam Rd., Islip Terrace, NY 11752. The event includes an untimed kids run and a 5K run/walk.

Event amenities listed by the organizer include guaranteed shirts for the first 300 registrants, medals for finishers, live online/text/email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs if registered three weeks in advance. Awards are given to the top four male and top four female overall.
Registration options include standard 5K and kids fun run entries, donation only and sponsorship only options, and fees that include processing. Registration fees are used toward race expenses and are non refundable. Personalized bibs are available for those who register at least three weeks before race day.
The published 5K course route proceeds from Beaverdam, right on Carlton Ave, left on Richard, right on Craig B Gariepy, left on Redman, right on Manhattan Blvd with a U turn at the ITFD sub station, then returns via Carlton Ave and Beaverdam Rd to finish at ITFD Headquarters. Road markers will guide participants. Bib pickup is handled by event staff starting one hour before the event; entrants must have a bib number for pickup.
