Island Girl Triathlon and Duathlon
The Island Girl Triathlon and Duathlon is a women only event held on September 27, 2026 at Lago Mar Lagoon, 3240 Lago Mar Blvd, Texas City, TX. The event offers a Sprint Triathlon, a Sprint Triathlon Relay, and a Duathlon, with finishes along the lagoon beach.
Distances and formats
- Duathlon: 1-mile run, 8-mile bike, 2-mile run
- Sprint Triathlon: 300 meter swim, 8-mile bike, 2-mile run
- Sprint Triathlon Relay: teams of 2 to 3 sharing the sprint triathlon distance
All athletes receive a custom race bib and a tech t-shirt or singlet, plus additional island-themed swag. Entries include admission to LagoonFest for the day and discounted admission options are available for friends and family. Finish area amenities include a beach setting and event hospitality.
Awards are given by category. Sprint awards include Top Overall and Masters (no double entry), Top 3 in ages 0-14, and five-year age groups from 15-19 up to 70+. Athena awards recognize the Top 3 individuals. Relay awards go to the Top 3 teams. Duathlon awards include Top Overall and Top 3 in ages 0-19 and ten-year age groups up to 70+.
