Texas Marathon Kingwood : event overview
Texas Marathon Kingwood is an annual marathon and half marathon held on the greenbelt trails in Kingwood, Texas. The running course consists of concrete greenbelt trails open to the public and uses multiple loops that begin and end at St. Martha Catholic School, passing Kingwood Lake.
Distances:
- 26.2 miles : four loops
- 13.2 miles : two loops
The course holds USATF certification TX25008JH. Timing is electronic with chips attached to the back of bib numbers; bibs should be worn on the front for timing and monitor visibility. Aid stations supply water and sports drink approximately every 1.5 miles, with additional snacks at the start/stop aid station about every 6.5 miles. Portable toilets are located at the start and at each aid station. A bag drop area is available near the start that is accessible from the course.
Packet pickup is provided on New Year’s Eve afternoon and on race morning at St. Martha Catholic School. The event has a participant limit of 500. There is a finishing time policy that requires runners to complete the event before darkness and that enforces an intermediate cutoff on the third loop. Each participant and volunteer receives a shirt; each finisher receives a custom finisher medal and other race items. Postrace refreshments include a pizza picnic and assorted snacks.
