Event Overview
The Lake Houston BridgeFest began as a celebration of the opening of the Lake Houston Parkway bridge. It is a community event organized by the Lake Houston Family YMCA and the Rotary Club of the Lake Houston Area. Net proceeds from the event directly benefit the local community through their support initiatives. The event has been held for 35 years.
Event Details
The event includes chip-timed running events and a family festival. The running events are:
- A 5K run/walk.
- A 1-mile run/walk, which is described as adaptive-friendly.
Both the 5K and 1-mile events will be chip-timed for the 2026 edition. Each participant in these events receives a custom bib, a finisher medal, and a BridgeFest race shirt.
Packet pick-up takes place at the Lake Houston Family YMCA, located at 2420 W Lake Houston Parkway in Kingwood, Texas. It is scheduled from Wednesday, March 25, to Friday, March 27. There is no packet pick-up available on the day of the event.
Awards
Awards are presented for both the 5K and the 1-mile events.
For the 5K, awards are given for:
- Male and Female Overall winners.
- Male and Female Masters (ages 40 and over).
- Male and Female Grand Masters (ages 60 and over).
- Top three male and female finishers in multiple age categories from 10 & Under to 70+.
For the 1-mile, awards are given for: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- Male and Female Overall winners.
- Male and Female participants aged 10 and under.
