Lake Houston BridgeFest

Lake Houston BridgeFest is an annual community gathering in Kingwood, Texas, that originated to celebrate the opening of the Lake Houston Parkway bridge. The event has been held for 35 years and brings together community members for physical activity and entertainment. Organized through a partnership between the Lake Houston Family YMCA and the Rotary Club of the Lake Houston Area, the proceeds from the event are used to support local community initiatives.

The race course is located at 2420 W Lake Houston Parkway. Participants can choose between two chip-timed distances:

  • 5 km run or walk
  • 1 mile run or walk

The 1 mile event is designated as adaptive-friendly. All registered participants in both the 5 km and 1 mile categories receive a custom race bib, a finisher medal, and a commemorative race shirt.

The event features a family festival alongside the running competitions. Awards are presented for the 5 km race to the overall male and female winners, as well as winners in Masters (40+) and Grand Masters (60+) categories. Additional age group awards are provided for participants ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. For the 1 mile race, awards are given to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top finishers aged 10 and under. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
