Irving Turkey Trot
The Irving Turkey Trot is a USATF certified race held on Thanksgiving morning in Irving, Texas. The event is based at the Toyota Music Factory. It benefits the Irving Schools Foundation.
Distances
The event offers two distances:
- An 8-mile run
- A 5k run/walk
A separate Spectator Pass and a virtual option are also available.
Course and venue
The 8-mile course goes around Lake Carolyn and the Las Colinas Urban Center. The 5k course is described as fast and flat, running up and down Las Colinas Blvd. Both races finish at the Toyota Music Factory plaza. Parking is at the Urban Towers parking garage on 222 W Las Colinas Blvd. Packet pickup occurs the day before at the Omni Las Colinas Hotel.
Event features
Registration includes a gender-specific performance shirt, a custom finisher medal, a timing chip, and free professional photos. Other features include a pre and post-race party at the venue, live music, chip timing, live tracking via the RaceJoy app, and multiple water stations on course. Age group awards are presented for all distances.
A team challenge is offered with trophies for fastest team, most participation, and best dressed team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
