iRun for Kids
iRun for Kids is a fundraiser organized by the Albany Public Schools Foundation. The event takes place at the West Albany High School Track on March 14, 2026, and features road and track races that support APSF programs and activities.
Event distances include:
- Little Leprechaun Dash: Kindergarten through 2nd grade, two laps of the WAHS track (800 m)
- 5K run or walk
- 10 Mile race
Registration details note online registration runs from February 1 through March 12 and the T shirt registration deadline is February 23. Day of event registration is allowed but T shirts and goodie bags are not guaranteed for late registrants. T shirts are included with 5K and 10 Mile registration through the T shirt deadline; additional shirts and sweatshirts may be preordered only.
All runners who complete the 5K and the 10 Mile routes receive finisher medals. Runners receive a swag bag with sponsor items and sponsor booths will be on site. The event includes mascots and is presented as a St Patrick's Day themed occasion. The Little Leprechaun Dash provides free parent participation for K–2 children. Children older than 2nd grade may run the 5K if accompanied by an adult and minors in the 5K and 10 Mile routes require a parent or guardian release form. Proceeds benefit classroom grants, enrichment and scholarships. A sponsor a student option is available for a $20 donation to assist low income students.
