Event overview
iRun for Kids is a fundraiser held by the Albany Public Schools Foundation on March 14, 2026, at the West Albany High School Track in Albany, Oregon. Proceeds benefit APSF programs, including classroom grants, enrichment opportunities, scholarships and student assistance. The event has a St. Patrick’s Day theme and is planned as a rain-or-shine event. Mascots and sponsor booths are present on race day.
Race distances and participation
- Little Leprechaun Dash - Kindergarten through 2nd grade, two laps of the track (approximately 800 m).
- 5K - Open to all ages; children older than 2nd grade may participate but must be accompanied by an adult.
- 10 Mile - Open to registered participants.
Children running the Little Leprechaun Dash may be accompanied by a parent or guardian without registration. All participants in the 5K and 10 Mile must register and wear a bib. Participants under 18 in the 5K or 10 Mile require a parent or guardian release form. Dogs on leash are allowed; owners must clean up after them.
Registration, logistics and sponsorship
Online registration opens December 1. Early bird registration runs December 1 to January 31; full-price online registration runs February 1 to March 12. T-shirts are included with 5K and 10 Mile registration until a T-shirt deadline (TBD); the Little Leprechaun Dash does not include a T-shirt. Packet pickup is offered the day before the race and on race morning. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Sponsor tiers and benefits are listed for businesses and individuals. A student sponsorship option is available for a $20 donation to cover one low-income student’s registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
