IronMed 5k
The IronMed 5k is a charity running event organized by the Georgetown University School of Medicine. The race serves as a fundraiser for the HOYA Clinic, a student-led medical facility that provides healthcare services to individuals regardless of their insurance or immigration status. Proceeds from the event support clinical outreach and community partnerships.
The in-person portion of the event takes place in Washington, DC, on the Capital Crescent Trail. Participants meet at Fletcher-s Boathouse, located at 4940 Canal Road Northwest. For those unable to attend the physical location, a virtual participation option is also available.
The event features the following distance options:
- 5k (In-person)
- 5k (Virtual)
Registration is open to both Georgetown University students and the general public. Participants have the option to join or view teams, and volunteer opportunities are available for those who wish to support the event without running. Virtual participants may choose a registration tier that includes a finisher medal and a t-shirt, or a basic tier without these items.
In addition to the race, a dedicated crowdfunding campaign is available for those who wish to contribute directly to the HOYA Clinic. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
