Ironbridge Half Marathon
The event is a half marathon held on 21 March 2027, starting and finishing at the QEII Arena in Telford Town Park, Hinkshay Road, Telford TF3 4EP. The course is one lap, marked in miles, and described as a down and up, multi surface route.
The route follows paths through Telford Town Park and along the Silkin Way, passing Blists Hill Museum, Coalport China Museum, the Severn Gorge and the Jackfield Tile Museum. Runners cross the World Heritage Ironbridge and run beside the River Severn, then continue through Ironbridge, Station Road, Coalbrookdale and Rough Park before returning along the Silkin Way to the QEII Arena. Mile markers and several landmark references are provided along the course.
There are four water stations at miles 3, 6, 9 and 11. After crossing the finish line runners are asked to keep moving through the finish funnel to collect a medal, T shirt and goody bag. Water will be available on completion. Prizes are available for age category winners.
Event procedures include a three hour cut off after which marshals and timekeepers will be withdrawn. Headphones are not permitted and anyone seen wearing them may be disqualified. Entrants cannot receive refunds or deferrals; transfers are allowed for a fee of £5. Early bird and standard entry prices apply and total places are 500.
