About the race
The Iron Joe Turkey Ride & Walk is the 22nd annual community cycling and walking event held at Eagle Lakes Community Park in Naples, Florida on Thanksgiving Eve. The program offers multiple route options for cyclists and walkers, rest stops and support services, and a catered post-ride lunch.
Cycling route options include:
- 62 Miles
- 40 Miles
- 20 Miles
- 10 Miles
- 5 Miles inside the park
Walking options take place inside the park and include 2.5 miles and 5 miles. Children under 12 ride or walk free with a paid adult on the 5 and 10-mile bike routes and on the walking routes. Only the 20, 10 and 5-mile bike routes will be marked; participants are strongly urged to use the Ride With GPS app to follow routes.
On-course support includes a light breakfast before departure, staffed rest stops, and SAG support provided by AAA and local bike shops. Post-ride lunch is catered by Jason's Deli and includes a beer, lemonade, or water with the meal. Post-ride activities include music and a raffle; raffle tickets are available individually or in a multipack. The first 300 registrants receive a commemorative shirt included with registration; shirts for children who ride free are not included but adult sizes are available for purchase.
Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before the event at Jason's Deli in Naples. Helmets and closed-toe shoes are required for every rider. Class 1 pedal-assist electric bikes are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
