Iron Horse Endurance Run : Paris, Texas
The Iron Horse Endurance Run takes place on January 2, 2027 in Paris, Texas, with events staged at the Love Civic Center. The course follows the NETT, the Northeast Texas Trail, and uses a mix of dirt, gravel, paved trails, roads, and sidewalks. Distances offered include:
- 50K
- 100K
- 100K RUCK
- 100 mile
The course is described as generally flat with stated elevation gain differences by distance: about 1000 feet of elevation gain for the 100K and about 2000 feet for the 100 mile event. Historic average temperatures for the date range near 33 to 53 degrees Fahrenheit. Aid stations and drop bag support are indicated for participants.
Equipment and rules are specified for all entrants. A headlamp is required for every participant. Every runner must carry their own water system because cups are not provided. Ruck events have weight requirements: participants over 150 pounds carry 30 pounds, those under 150 pounds carry 20 pounds; ruck sacks or vests are allowed. Shuttle service is available for the 100K and 100 mile start area, and participants may choose to be driven or receive crew support along the course. Awards and event apparel include long sleeve shirts and hoodies, finish buckles for 100K and 100 mile categories, patches for ruck finishers, place awards for divisions, and DFL awards for the 100K and 100 mile events.
