IRISH I Was Faster : Imlay City, MI
The IRISH I Was Faster is a community running event held on March 21, 2026, centered at Imlay City High School (1001 Norlin Dr, Imlay City, MI 48444). The program includes the following events:
- IRISH I Was Faster 4K Run
- IRISH I Was Faster 4K Walk
- Little Shamrock 1K Fun Run
The 4K course (about 2.5 miles) begins and ends in front of the high school and passes Weston Street Elementary, the Middle School, Borland Road Elementary, baseball fields, the track and football field, and several residential streets before returning to the school parking lot for a final loop. Public roads will remain open; lightly traveled roads were selected and intersections will be staffed to help manage traffic.
The 1K fun run is an out-and-back on a closed off road behind the school, starting and finishing at the high school and turning around at the north end of the bus parking area.
Proceeds support the Imlay City Athletic Boosters for team gear, uniforms, equipment and the HUDL video review system. Both 4K and 1K participants receive a finisher acknowledgement or medal, and 4K entries include a technical fabric shirt while 1K entries include a cotton shirt. There is a registration cutoff for receiving shirts; entries after that cutoff do not include a shirt and have a reduced fee.
Parking guidance is provided with designated lots for general parking and staff parking only. Local volunteers staff the course and event operations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
