About the race
The Gobbler Wobbler is a chip timed 5 Miles road race held in Lapeer, centered on the Mott Community College trail head at 550 Lake Dr. The route passes through Mott Community College, runs behind Lapeer Lightning Stadium, loops through several neighborhoods and turns onto M21 before returning to Mott College.
All participants receive a finisher time, a finisher medal and race photos. The course is marked with a few cones and arrows; roads remain open to traffic and participants are required to yield to traffic. Route maps are available in Strava format.
Postrace provisions include snacks and beverages at the finish. Awards are given to the overall first male and female in the 5 Mile, and to the top three finishers in five year age groups. A portion of the race proceeds is used to support Lapeer Community Schools.
This event is presented as a local Thanksgiving day running event in its third year, organized with a goal of growing the field and contributing to the local community while providing timed results and finishers items for participants.
