About the race
The Ireland West Airport Charity Runway Fun Run 2026 is the ninth annual 5 km runway run and walk held at Ireland West Airport in partnership with Portwest. The event takes place on Saturday, 19th September 2026 and opens the airport runway for a family-focused fun run.
All event proceeds will go to the listed charity partners for 2026: Cancer Care West, Family Centre Castlebar, Liver Ireland Support Network, Mayo Mental Health Association, Pancreatic Cancer Ireland, and Sunflower Children’s Hospice. A virtual participation option is available for those who cannot attend in person; virtual entrants who request a t-shirt will incur a postage and packaging charge, while t-shirt collection at the airport is offered at no extra cost.
Participants who register online by 2pm on Friday, 18th September 2026 will receive a complimentary commemorative runway run t-shirt, available for collection at the airport on the day or on a pre-arranged date to be advised. Online registration closes at 2pm on Friday, 18th September 2026. Race t-shirts are limited and subject to availability; those who register after the online deadline may not receive a t-shirt on the day.
