Interlaken Ice Cream Dash
Interlaken Ice Cream Dash is a summer weeknight trail run in Interlaken Park, Seattle, and part of the Tuesday Night Trail to Grill series. The park spans about fifty-one acres of forest between the Montlake and Capitol Hill neighborhoods and features a wide, tree-canopied paved boulevard that is closed to motorized traffic.
- 5k two laps of a 2.5 km loop
- 10k four laps of a 2.5 km loop
The course begins with an out-and-back on the paved Interlaken Boulevard, then climbs a short staircase onto dirt trails. The trail section includes a few steep pitches and a sustained climb to the top of the park before returning downhill to the boulevard and the start/finish. Each loop is 2.5 km.
The aid station is located at the start/finish and serves water, Skratch Labs electrolyte drink, and a selection of carbohydrate-rich and salty foods such as cookies, pieces of energy bar, gels, chews, chips, bagels, fruity candy, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and bananas. Runners pass the aid station at loop intervals; 5k runners pass once during the race, while 10k runners pass multiple times.
The event begins near the intersection of 21st Ave E and E Interlaken Blvd. Street parking is available adjacent to check-in and the start/finish. Post-race offerings include hot dogs, veggie dogs, watermelon, ice cream, awards for top finishers in Female and Open categories, and prize raffles. Apparel is offered for purchase at listed prices.
