Interlaken Ice Cream Dash

Interlaken Ice Cream Dash is a summer weeknight trail run held in Interlaken Park in Seattle. It is part of the Tuesday Night Trail to Grill series presented by Oiselle and offers two distance options.

The course begins on the wide, tree-canopied paved Interlaken Boulevard, a road closed to motorized traffic within the park. Runners follow an out-and-back on the boulevard, then climb a short staircase onto dirt trails that ascend to the top of the park and return to the boulevard. The trail includes a few steep pitches and a sustained climb followed by a downhill return. Each loop is 2.5 km; the 5k uses two loops and the 10k uses four loops.

Aid is available at the start/finish location. The aid station provides water, Skratch Labs electrolyte drink, and a selection of carbohydrate-rich or salty foods such as cookies, energy bar pieces, gels, chews, chips, bagel, fig bars, and bananas.

Street parking is available near the intersection of 21st Ave E and E Interlaken Blvd adjacent to check-in and the start/finish area. Weekday evening traffic and park use can make travel and parking slower than usual. During the event the trails remain open to other users and cyclists. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Post-race provisions include hot dogs, veggie dogs, watermelon, ice cream, awards for top finishers in Female and Open categories, and a raffle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
