Event Format
The InHouse Ultra is a last-one-standing competition for 33 athletes nationwide, held indoors at Run Unlimited. The event is not about speed, but about endurance.
Athletes must run 5 miles every hour, on the hour. All 5 miles must be completed before the next round begins. Missing a round results in a DNF (Did Not Finish). Participants cannot stack miles. The last athlete remaining wins. Standing on the sides of the treadmill while the belt is moving is not allowed.
Participant Details
Athletes are self-supported, responsible for their own fuel and gear. Each participant is allowed one crew member, but no assistance is permitted during treadmill sessions. Access to a recovery zone is provided between rounds. The room temperature is controlled to 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Movies and music are played throughout the day.
Participants are advised to bring their own chair and cooler for specific nutrition needs. Family and friends are welcome to spectate, with particular encouragement for night sessions, though studio space is limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
