InHouse Ultra
InHouse Ultra is an indoor Last Person Standing treadmill race held in St Petersburg, FL at 2232 2nd Ave S. The event uses Woodway treadmills and follows a backyard ultra format where runners must complete 5 miles within each 60 minute round.
The facility provides a controlled environment kept at 72 degrees with a light breeze and minimal humidity. The race features spectators and continuous music. The St Petersburg field is limited to 14 athletes and the event includes a parallel competition with a sister studio, Twenty One Run, in Salt Lake City which is limited to 19 athletes.
General rules require each runner to use their assigned treadmill for the entire race and to wear a bib on the back. Treadmills must be reset to zero for time and distance and set to 0% incline. Nutrition used while running is allowed and towels are provided. Minimum attire includes running shoes, shorts, and a top. Headphones are permitted.
Race rules include a 3 2 1 announcement sequence before each round and a requirement to be on the treadmill in the 59th minute of each hour to avoid a DNF. Runners must complete each 5 mile segment without external support. Walking and bathroom breaks are allowed but the runner must remain running until the treadmill comes to a complete stop before stepping off. Going to a personal station before finishing 5 miles results in a DNF, with medical or mechanical exceptions considered case by case. Empty treadmills may not be used by non participants.
Penalties and disqualifications can result from stepping on the treadmill side while it is moving, leaving the treadmill while it is moving, holding the handlebars while running, touching another runner s treadmill controls, or wearing attire that distracts others. Warnings and penalties are at the discretion of the race director.
The final award is given to the last person standing who completes the required 5 mile segments within the hour. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
