Event details

The environment is climate controlled at about 72 degrees with a light breeze and minimal humidity. Spectators and music are present throughout the event. Registration closes on Fri, Feb 6 at 11:59 PM ET. The local studio is limited to 14 athletes; a sister studio in Salt Lake City is limited to 19 athletes.

Format and rules

Runners must complete 5 miles within each 60-minute round to continue. Each athlete uses an assigned treadmill for the duration of the race. Treadmills are reset to zero for time and distance at the start of each round and must be set to 0% incline. A 3-2-1 announcement system is used before each round; runners must be on the treadmill in the 59th minute to avoid a DNF. Nutrition, towels, and headphones are allowed. Minimum attire includes running shoes, shorts, and a top. Walking and bathroom breaks are permitted, but runners must allow the treadmill to come to a complete stop before stepping off. Support from others is not allowed until the 5 miles for that round are completed. Penalties or disqualification can result from leaving the treadmill while it is in motion, holding the handlebars while running, impeding another runner, inappropriate attire, or going to a personal station before finishing a round. The final winner is the last person able to complete the required distance each round. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
