2026 Indian Head Rail Trail 5k & 10k
The event takes place on March 8 at the Indian Head Rail Trail in White Plains, Maryland. It offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course is flat and paved, laid out as an out-and-back route. The 10 km is completed as two laps of the same out-and-back segment. The event is chip timed and provides a finisher’s medal and a technical (DriFit) event shirt. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before February 25; additional shirts are ordered while supplies last.
Points from these races count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack Series, and the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available for those who do not attend in person. Live results are published via Athlinks and a QR code at the event provides immediate result access.
The event benefits I-ASC, an organization that promotes access to Spelling to Communicate (S2C) for nonspeaking and minimally speaking people. Water stations are placed along the courses: three stations on the 10 km approximately at miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one station on the 5 km at about mile 1.55; some stations include Gatorade. Port-a-johns are available near the check-in area. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in standard age divisions.
