Independence Freedom Day 5k / Down Hill Mile

The 5k course is rated medium to hard with some hills. The published 5k route begins in the GCHS parking lot, continues onto Main Street, Nautilus Way and Powerhouse Road, enters a trail to the Grayson Recreation Pool, passes through the pool parking lot, proceeds onto County Park Lane into lower field parking, follows cones to Industrial Park Lane and returns on the Main Street sidewalk to the school.
The Down Hill Mile starts on the sidewalk in front of Carter National Bank on Main Street and runs straight to Grayson Industrial Park. That mile is described as entirely downhill and runners are shuttled back to GCHS after finishing.
Entry fees are listed as $25 for the 5k or the Down Hill Mile and $30 for the Double. T shirts were reported sold out; Double entrants receive one shirt if they registered within the announced shirt window.
