New River Trail Races
The New River Trail Races take place in the New River Trail State Park in Fries, Virginia. The event features multiple distance options held entirely on a track consisting of 100% dirt surface. The terrain is flat and follows a course set along the New River and Chestnut Creek.
Participants can choose from four distinct race lengths:
- 100k
- 50k
- 25k
- 10k
Each distance is organized as an out and back course, starting and finishing at the local firehouse area. For the longest distance, runners who complete the 100k course receive a finisher's buckle.
The event utilizes local vendors for participant shirts. Registration must be completed by April 1 to ensure a race shirt is provided, as the production timeline requires finalized numbers by this date. For the 25k and 50k distances, an early start option is available for participants who anticipate needing additional time to reach the finish line before the course cutoffs.
