Froggy Mountain Warrior 100
The Froggy Mountain Warrior 100 is a winter 100 Miler held in Galax, VA on February 26, 2027. The race is organized by Froggy Mountain Adventures as a fundraiser for the veterans organization 22toomany. A portion of each registration fee is donated to that charity and the entry includes a lowkey buckle inscribed with the event's "warrior" artwork. Runners who register before February 1 receive the buckle at the event; others will have it mailed afterwards.
The course moves to private property associated with the Froggy Mountain 100 and uses new trails. The route includes an approximate 5 to 8 mile out-and-back section on switchbacks, uses deer trails, and features an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 feet of climb on mildly technical singletrack with roots and logs. There will be an aid station with some hot food, a drop bag location at the mountain top, and heated indoor space for bathrooms, cooking, and resting. The race has a generous 56 hour cutoff and allows pacers after 50 miles.
February weather can vary from mild 40s or 50s to snow, freezing rain, or frigid wind chills. The organizer encourages runners to bring suitable winter gear and supplies. Campsites and spring water are available at the venue, and lodging options exist in nearby Galax. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
