Independence Day 5K Run and Walk
The Independence Day 5K Run and Walk is an athletic event organized by Emmet County Parks and Recreation to support local parks and facilities. The race takes place at Camp Petosega in Alanson, Michigan. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue clothing in celebration of the holiday.
The course follows a cross country trail within the camp grounds. Meeting and parking for the event are located at the air hangar situated along the entrance drive to the right. Attendees are advised that if they reach the camp office, they have traveled past the designated meeting point.

All participants receive a medal upon completion of the event. T-shirts are provided to those who register early while supplies last. Registration is available prior to the race day for a reduced fee, though race day registration is also possible on-site. The event is open to individuals of all ages.
