In Step With Sam

In Step With Sam is a community memorial event held in Ann Arbor at 1320 Baldwin Ave. The event offers multiple ways to participate and includes on-site activities such as food trucks, a bounce house, and a Sam-inspired service project.

The gathering honors a community leader who was killed outside her home in Detroit in October 2023. Proceeds from the event will go to the Samantha Woll Center for Jewish Detroit.

Participation options include:

5K Walk/Run : 3.14 miles
1 Mile Walk/Run
Kids Fun Run : 0.5 miles
Virtual Run
Sideline Supporter

A virtual option allows participants to take part from elsewhere; virtual registrants will receive T-shirts by mail and will be invited to join a shared Zoom session that is displayed on a large screen during the event. Meetups are planned in other U.S. cities and abroad for those not in Ann Arbor. Registration opens 2027-01-31 and fees vary by event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
