Illinois State University Homecoming Town and Gown 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
This Homecoming event is a hybrid running program offering an in-person 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, plus virtual 5K options. The in-person courses use the Student Fitness Center as the start location and route through Uptown Normal and around campus.
One water stop is provided on the course. Refreshments will be available after the run courtesy of the Town of Normal. The Office of Sustainability will be onsite with reusable water bottles and a Zero Waste Crew to support a zero-waste event. Pets are not allowed. Strollers are welcome. Parking is available in the School Street Parking Garage off Beaufort.
Prizes will be awarded to overall male and female winners, overall male and female wheelchair racers, and an overall non-binary racer. Additional awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age division: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over.
Registration is completed online only. The registration fee is twenty dollars for all ages and races, and five dollars from each registration will support the Marian H. Dean Scholarship. Packet pick-up is available the day before at the Kasten Room in the Alumni Center or on race day at the Student Fitness Center. Virtual participants receive a confirmation email with a printable bib, instructions, and a link to submit race time; shirts for virtual runners will be mailed.
