Dam Site Half Marathon
The Dam Site Half Marathon takes place on November 1, 2026 at Black Locust Beach in LeRoy, Illinois. The event is a half marathon held in a fall setting near the dam site and surrounding woods.
The race began in 2020 as an opportunity to hold a road race during widespread cancellations. The chosen date has produced notable fall foliage that serves as a backdrop for the course, and the event continues as an annual race in 2026.
Event features include a certified course, chip timing with split times, awards and a finisher medal. All race finishers will receive a custom stainless steel tumbler as part of the post race swag. The Brew 66 Coffee Truck will be on site offering free coffee and other hot beverages for finishers. Organizers are also running a Dam Site $400 Scavenger Hunt alongside the race.
The event has adopted a no single use plastics policy: no plastic water bottles or bottled sports drinks will be used, and paper cups will be provided at water stops. Registration pricing notes in 2026 included a launch special at $39.99 valid for two weeks or until 75 registrants, a $10 discount for Lake Run Club members, entry options starting at $29.99, and a scheduled price increase after September 30, 2026.
