Event overview
The PLEA Foundation organizes the 5K I Support The K9s Color Run as a fundraiser to support police K9s. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Shelby Township, Michigan. The event is presented as the foundation's twelfth 5K and includes three entry categories: Runner (18+), Walker (18+) and Child (6-17). Entry fees listed for the 2026 event are $25 for Runner and Walker entries and $15 for Child entries. Registration includes a T-shirt, medal, racing bib and refreshments. The event program includes post-race refreshments, photo opportunities, a raffle and a 50/50 drawing.
Course and logistics
The run is set on the paved path at River Bends Park, starting and finishing near the Hickory Grove Pavilion area at 5700 22 Mile Road, Shelby Township, MI 48317. The course will feature six color stations along the path where color throwers will apply colored powder to participants. Organizers ask that participants enter the park via the 22 Mile Entrance only; parking is provided in the lot next to the Hickory Grove Pavilion and the playground. Check-in and registration occur at the Hickory Grove Pavilion. A signed waiver is required to participate. Packet pick-up is available from the organizer’s Rochester office on the Friday before the event; T-shirts are first-come after April 18 and sizes are not guaranteed after April 25.
