9th Annual I Run with Survivors
The I Run with Survivors event is hosted by the Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This annual event takes place in the Levee District of East Peoria, Illinois. It offers a community-focused environment where participants can show support for survivors of abuse. Registration proceeds are used to fund free and confidential services for survivors of sexual assault provided by the CFPA.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K Run (Timed)
- 1 Mile Walk (Untimed)
The 5K course begins and ends on West Washington Street in front of the Levee Park Pavilion. The 1 Mile course also starts on West Washington Street but concludes on the path within Levee Park, moving from the road to the sidewalk at the Clock Tower Drive traffic circle. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual participation option is available.
Event activities include refreshments and photo opportunities. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register during the designated early registration period, excluding those in the youngest age category. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at RC Outfitters or on the morning of the race at the event site. Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers overall based on gun time, as well as the top three participants in various age groups ranging from 18 and under to 50 and over.
