Event Overview
The event "I Run with Survivors" is a timed 5K run and an untimed 1-mile walk. It is organized by the Center for Prevention of Abuse and takes place in the Levee District in East Peoria, Illinois. This is the 9th annual occurrence of the event.
Event Date and Location
The event is scheduled for a Saturday in April. The start and finish for the 5K is on West Washington Street in front of Levee Park Pavilion. The 1-mile walk/run starts at the same location but finishes on a path in Levee Park.
Distances and Registration
Two main activities are offered:
- 5K Run/Walk: A timed event.
- 1 Mile Run/Walk: An untimed event.
Different registration fees apply for adults and youth participants. A race shirt is guaranteed for most participants who register by a specified date in late March. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at RC Outfitters and on race day.
Awards and Cause
The 5K features overall and age group awards. The event is held in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. All proceeds from registration go toward providing free and confidential services for survivors of sexual assault through the Center for Prevention of Abuse.
