I RUN the RIVER with Active CB
I RUN the RIVER with Active CB is a community running festival held along the Cooks River Path in Canterbury, with the race hub at Tasker Park. The event offers a set of measured courses that start and finish on grass and follow mostly smooth, paved pathways with two short single-file gravel sections and multiple footbridge crossings.
Distances available:
- 3 km Crayv Family Fun Run
- 7 km scenic circuit along the Cooks River cycleway
- 14 km two laps of the 7 km circuit
- 21.1 km three laps of the 7 km circuit
Courses are flat and clearly marked. Water stations are positioned on course at 3 km, 10 km and 17 km, with additional Hurlstone Park FC water stations at 5 km, 12 km and 19 km. Runners on the half marathon distance must complete the 21.1 km within three hours to receive marshal support and have results recorded.
Participants who register receive an I RUN the RIVER boot bag and finishers receive a medal. On event day the run hub includes stalls, a DJ, free massages, a sausage sizzle, first aid, toilets and photography. The event proceeds if it is raining unless the course is unsafe due to flooding. Limited parking is available nearby at the leisure and aquatic centre. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
