Aberdeen Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k 2027
The Aberdeen Marathon event weekend takes place in Aberdeen on Saturday 17 July 2027. The programme includes a full marathon, a half marathon and a 5k held around the city and nearby coast. For 2027 the start and finish area is located in the city centre close to Marischal College. Routes pass notable local locations such as the River Dee, Aberdeen Beach, the Port of Aberdeen and the University of Aberdeen, combining coastal views, riverside sections and city streets.
Distances:
- Marathon full marathon, limited to 2,000 runners
- Half Marathon half marathon, limited to 2,000 runners
- 5k 5 kilometre race, limited to 1,000 runners
The organisers describe the weekend as a running festival with events for a range of ages. The event follows an inaugural edition in 2026 and is expected to attract high demand for 2027 entries. The programme notes naturally cool summer running conditions in the area and indicates good access by train on the east coast mainline and via Aberdeen airport.
Elite places are available for all events. Published qualifying performances for elite consideration are: marathon men sub 2:35 and women sub 2:55; half marathon men sub 70:00 and women sub 80:00; 5k men sub 16:00 and women sub 18:30.
